Sunny Shadows

Sunny Shadows by Bela Nouriani

‘Sunny Shadows’ is a modular element made out of innovative photovoltaic films, aligned one after another in rows, together forming an open roof structure. During the day, ‘Sunny Shadow’ receives a lot of sunlight, creating pleasant, dynamically coloured shadows on the ground. After sunset, ‘Sunny Shadows’ illuminates the terrace, creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere.

Who For terrace visitors to enjoy dynamic color shades during the day and illumination at night. It offers a sustainable, self-sufficient light source.

Why As a result of the current energy crisis and advancing climate change, it is important to discover a new method in energy generation. Project ‘Sunny Shadows’ demonstrates a simple and innovative use of recent photovoltaic technology. The possible applications reach from large-scale urban use to private use, showing how easily photovoltaics can be integrated in one’s daily surroundings.

How The shades can be colorful and move dynamically due to the color, transparency, and minimal weight of ASCA’s photovoltaic films. Meanwhile, the film generates and stores energy in each modular element and illuminates the terrace at night.

Where Focused to be located at the Wientalterrasse (Vienna Valley terrace) in the heart of Vienna, the Wientalterrasse serves as a meeting point in the neighbourhood. Also possible to use individually or in multitude in any other place.
