Growing Solar by Jan Penka
‘Growing Solar’ is designed to integrate solar panels into urban architecture without compromising on aesthetics
Who Urban inhabitants looking for sustainable and aesthetically pleasing solutions to their energy needs.
Why The design is inspired by ivy, which grows parasitically on trees, buildings, and fences. The solar panels are arranged in a pattern that mimics the growth of climbing plants, giving the system a natural and organic look. This helps the solar panels blend in with the urban environment, placing them in a setting between an aesthetic and a necessary solution.
How ‘Growing Solar’ uses ASCA’s organic and transparent photovoltaic film, along with a linkage system which makes it possible to create an individual pattern adapted to the building.
Where ‘Growing Solar’ can be installed on various architectural elements, such as empty facades and street poles, to maximize space utilisation and increase renewable energy generation in urban areas.
